The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Black Sea, SDSN Youth Black Sea, and the Council of Young Scientists of the State Organization “Institute of Market and Economic & Ecological Researches of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” invite young people to submit their innovative SDG solutions in the first edition of the Black Sea Youth Solutions Report.

Objectives of the Report

The Black Sea Youth Solutions Report aims to showcase promising innovative youth solutions for the implementation of the SDGs in the Black Sea Region. Specifically, it:

  • Provides young people with the opportunity to promote their research and innovative projects to a wide, regional, and international audience.
  • Fosters new partnerships and identifies new fields of cooperation in scientific research and joint initiatives.
  • Empowers the youth community in the Black Sea region.
  • Showcases innovative ideas for implementation to relevant stakeholders in the Black Sea countries (and worldwide).
  • Attracts sponsors for the proposals and investors in the Black Sea region.

What is a Youth-Led Solution?

Youth-led solutions are transformative projects and endeavors, ranging from entrepreneurial ventures to educational programs, and include research activities, charity initiatives, etc., showcasing the innovative approach youth take in solving sustainable development challenges.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Alignment to SDGs: Projects must link to one or more of the 17 SDGs.
  2. Youth-led: Coordinated by or focused on individuals aged 18-40.
  3. Structure: Well-structured with clear objectives, target audience, and outcomes.
  4. Environmental Impact: Must have a positive or neutral environmental impact.
  5. Social Impact: Should generate employment, reduce poverty, or develop skills.
  6. Impact Measurement: Must have measurable impacts aligned with SDG indicators.
  7. Scalability: Should have potential for expansion and replication in other regions.

Process of Submission and Review

Deadline for Submission: June 30, 2024
Submission Form: Submit your proposal

Evaluation:

  • Proposals will be evaluated by a Scientific Evaluation Committee.
  • Results will be announced between October-November 2024.
  • The report will be published by the end of 2024.

Eligible Countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Turkiye, Ukraine.
