To deepen the access channel and widen the existing breakwater to allow larger ships to call at the port, reduce waiting times and ease operational and safety restrictions, while also promoting economic, social and territorial cohesion and supporting a sustainable development approach to coastal resources.
Solution
To use ECOncrete's technology, which integrates an admixture, micro texture complexity, and macro surface design into the concrete production process, to create 'blue' Tetrapods that enhance the ecological value of the port infrastructure and provide habitat for marine biodiversity.
