Challenge / Goal

Achieve a decrease in the usage of carbon-intensive electricity and fuel at the port, and attain net zero emissions (scope 1 and 2) by 2030 in accordance with the targets established by the Queensland Climate Transition Strategy. The strategy aims to power Queensland with 50% renewable energy by 2030, reach zero net emissions by 2050, and set an interim emissions target of at least 30% below 2005 levels by 2030.

Solution

The implementation of the Energy Transition Plan in 2020, which has the following key priorities:

- Supporting local industry development, including research and development.
- Industry and government collaboration.
- Investment in green infrastructure.
