Challenge / Goal

The primary challenge addressed by Port Endeavor is the need to increase awareness and practical understanding of the UN SDGs within the port industry. The goal is to equip port professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to implement sustainable practices, ensuring ports can act as agents of positive change in alignment with global sustainability targets.

Solution

Port Endeavor was developed by IAPH in collaboration with UNCTAD TrainForTrade and the Antwerp Port Training Center. The game places participants in the role of port executives tasked with making strategic decisions to create the most sustainable port. Teams operate within budget constraints and must respond to various scenarios, including disruptive events. Activities are based on real-life examples from the World Port Sustainability Program (WPSP) database, providing practical insights into integrating SDGs into port operations.
