Challenge / Goal
To lead the change in marine renewable energy production, thorough R&D projects on reducing emissions, creating a greener port environment, promoting the adoption of alternative fuels and technologies, combating plastic pollution, pursuing a circular economy, and embracing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Solution
To address the challenge at hand, a multifaceted approach has been proposed, including the implementation of an Operations Masterplan (OPS Masterplan) to optimize operational processes, the utilization of offshore wind turbines for clean energy generation, the deployment of intelligent lighting systems for energy efficiency, and the adoption of electrolysis for green hydrogen production. Additionally, strategic collaboration with industry partners aims to foster innovation, while the transformation of plastic waste into petrochemical resources contributes to environmental sustainability. Furthermore, the eH2 RTG project, combining radioisotope-based energy generation with hydrogen production, offers a unique and sustainable energy solution for remote areas. These solutions collectively tackle the challenge from various angles, encompassing efficiency, sustainability, and collaboration.
