Awarding Body: European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) Services/Products Involved: Conducting studies on promising technologies for sustainable shipping, including air lubrication, onboard carbon capture, waste heat recovery systems, and updates on alternative fuels. Tender Scope: This framework contract involves performing a maximum of six specific contracts over four years to study and update technologies for sustainable shipping. Key technologies include: Onboard carbon capture and storage Hull air cavity lubrication Waste heat recovery systems Updating previous studies on fuel cells and batteries Procurement Procedure: Open procedure with electronic submission via the F&T Portal. Place of Performance: European Union and potentially international locations for meetings (Brussels, Lisbon, London). Estimated Value: EUR 850,000 excluding VAT Project Goals: To support the EU's Green Deal and decarbonization efforts by assessing the feasibility and impact of new and existing technologies on maritime emissions.
